Church Notices – St. Mary’s 31st January, 2016

  • Today is the 4th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Weekday Masses will be at 8.00 a.m. and 10.00 a.m. 
  • Monday – Feast of St Brigid.
  • Tuesday is the Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord when we celebrate the presentation of the child Jesus in the Temple when he was recognised as being the light of the nations.  You are invited to bring candles to the 8.00 a.m. and 10.00 a.m. Masses when they will be blessed.
  • Wednesday is the Feast of St. Blaise Bishop and Martyr, Patron Saint of those who suffer from disease of the throat. The blessing of throats will take place at the 8.00 a.m. & 10.00 Masses.
  • Fr. Kieran O’Mahony will continue the course exploring the Old Testament on Tuesday evening at 7.30 p.m. in the Boys’ National School.
  • The First Confessions will take place in St Mary’s Church this coming week –

Presentation Girls School  – Tuesday at 7.30 p.m.

Gael Scoil Ui Fhiach – Wednesday at 11.30 a.m.

Boys National School – Wednesday at 7.30 p.m.

Educate Together – Thursday at 7.30 p.m.

  • Archbishop Martin will celebrate Mass in St Mary’s Church for Youth 2000 as part of their preparation for World Youth Day on Saturday 6th February at 5.00 p.m.
  • On Sunday next, 1st February, the 10.00 a.m. Mass will be a special Mass for all those baptised here in St. Mary’s during 2014.
  • QUIET TIME, RELAXATION AND MEDITATION FOR TEENS – If you’re in Secondary school and can spare one hour on the evening of the first Friday of the month, come to a quiet space where you can relax from all the pressures that surround you, where you can get in touch with yourself in meditation and prayer. This will take place on Friday next 5th February in the Geraldine Hall, at the Harbour Field, from 6.30 to 7.45 pm. Everybody is very welcome.
  • Tickets for the Parish Ball which will take place on Saturday 27th February are available from members of the organising committee, the finance committee or from the Parish office. The Ball takes place in Carton House to raise the balance of funds for the refurbishment of St Mary’s church.
