Do This In Memory Do This in Memory is a parish-based programme of preparation for First Holy Communion centred in the parish celebration of the Sunday Eucharist and in the home. The programme resources are designed to facilitate parents, families and the parishes’ active involvement in the preparation for the sacrament.
It complements and supports the work of sacramental preparation in the parish school or the religious education programme in the parish. The programme takes place once a month for eight months before First Holy Communion and concludes during the parish celebration of the Feast of Corpus Christi. All the Children who are preparing for First Holy Communion in our Parish take part in the Do This in Memory Programme.

This parish initiative hopes to integrate the home, the parish and the school in preparing children for this sacrament, recognising the importance of all three. It is a journey towards the celebration of First Holy Communion and can help both the children and their parents.

For the children who will receive the sacraments of First Confession and First Communion this year it will be a significant stage in their faith journey.
It is important that the children receiving the sacraments are well prepared. This preparation takes place in school and at home. The parents and guardians of the First Communion children meet and the preparation programme is outlined - the “Alive O” programme in the school and the “Do This In Memory” programme in the parish.

It is a journey towards the celebration of First Communion and helps both the children and their parents. The programme is run by parents with the help of the DTIM Co-ordinating Team.
