Bereavement Support

The Bethany Bereavement Support Group is a voluntary parish-based group of trained individuals which aims to provide a listening ear to those who are grieving. It offers on-going support and understanding during the difficult times of grief and loss. Training is generally offered twice yearly. Utmost confidentiality is assured at all times.

The Bethany Group also organises special liturgies such as the November Remembrance Mass and a Service for the stillborn and babies who have died shortly after birth. They also partake in on-going training in the area of Bereavement Support Work.

The Group offers support in a number of different ways:

Home Visits – if requested we call to the bereaved following a recent loss. Further visits can then be arranged if so desired on an individual or family basis.

One-to-one Support – This support provides the bereaved person with an opportunity to talk in confidence with a Bethany member on individual basis. It can take place in the person’s home or in a neutral setting if preferred. This is suitable for people at any stage following a bereavement or loss.

Telephone Contact – If you wish to contact a member of the Bereavement Group, please phone Martina in the Parish Office at 01 629 3018 or by email maynoothparishoffice@gmail.com.

We hold group sessions and on request visit individual families in their time of grief.

New Members are always welcome.
